It’s easy to get caught up in the rush of life, the endless to-do lists, and the looming stress of the holiday season. Before you know it, November slips by, and you realize you never truly paused to appreciate the goodness around you.
But what if this year was different? What if we decided, together, to intentionally slow down and look for the blessing every single day?
That's why we're so excited to introduce our annual ministry challenge: The Thankful Thirty!
What is The Thankful Thirty?
The concept is beautifully simple, yet profoundly impactful. For the entire month of November (30 days!), our challenge is to commit to finding and acknowledging one specific thing to be genuinely thankful for each day.
This isn't just about general platitudes like "I'm thankful for my family." It's about developing a practice of spiritual focus—training your mind and heart to pinpoint the specific grace that God provided that day.
It could be big, or it could be small:
Did you have a tough meeting? Be thankful for the friend who called to check in right after.
Did your child draw you a picture? Be thankful for their creativity and the joy in their heart.
Did you catch a beautiful sunrise? Be thankful for the majesty of creation and the quiet start to your morning.
By the end of the month, you won't just have a list of thirty things; you'll have a record of God's faithful presence in your life.
Why 30 Days? Why Now?
November naturally brings the theme of Thanksgiving to the forefront, making it the perfect time to build this essential spiritual habit. Research shows that practicing gratitude daily can:
Increase happiness and overall life satisfaction.
Reduce stress and negative emotions.
Strengthen your faith by helping you recognize God's constant provision.
We want to equip you with a simple, daily discipline that transforms your outlook, not just for the holiday, but for the rest of your life.
How to Join The Thankful Thirty
Participation is simple and flexible. Choose the method that best fits your life!
The Journaler: Keep a dedicated Gratitude Journal and jot down your "one thing" each evening.
The Sharer: Post your daily thankfulness on social media (Facebook, Instagram, etc.). We encourage you to use the hashtag #ThankfulThirty so we can all share and encourage one another!
The Private Practitioner: Simply tell your one thing to a spouse, family member, or friend, or just offer a quiet prayer of thanks before you fall asleep.
However you choose to practice it, the goal remains the same: Find the thing. Name the thing. Thank God for the thing.
Ready to transform your perspective this November? Let’s put on a heart of thankfulness together!
Are you in? Tell us in the comments what one thing you are thankful for TODAY, even before the challenge officially begins!
Jesus
